The Irvinton House Museum in Richmond, KY, is featuring a special temporary exhibit titled “Revolutionary Threads: Uniforms of our Patriot Ancestors”. This exhibit will be on display from Tuesday, April 1st to Friday, April 25th. During this time, visitors can explore the exhibit during regular museum hours, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, and it is open to the public.
About the Exhibit
“Revolutionary Threads” honors America250, the multi-year national commemoration of the 250th Anniversary of American Independence in 1776. The Transylvania Chapter NSDAR organized the exhibit to highlight the uniforms worn by patriots during the American Revolution. It offers a glimpse into the clothing and history of that time. Moreover, it will travel across Kentucky to museums, libraries, and historical societies through December 2026, sharing this important part of our nation’s history.
Opening Reception
The opening reception will be held on Tuesday, April 8th from 5:00 – 8:00 PM, coinciding with Richmond KY Parks and Recreation’s Tasty Tuesday event. It’s a great opportunity to explore the exhibit, meet fellow history enthusiasts, and enjoy a night of community fun.
