Devin’s connection to Berea began long before she became a REALTOR®. She grew up in Apple Grove Park, near Memorial Park, the skating rink, Berea Community Park, and the places where local kids spent their afternoons and summer days. She remembers walking to the park after school, going to the pool in the summer, skating at Club Arena on weekends, and growing up in a community where people knew their neighbors. Today, she is raising her own children in Berea. They represent the fourth generation of her Todd family line growing up in the community. Her family has a long history of local business ownership. Her grandfather, Johnny Todd, and grandmother, Mary Lee, operated Todd’s Antique Mall after the family grocery business on Highway 25 South toward Mount Vernon. Devin is the third generation of her family to build a business in Berea. Some of her most formative memories involve watching her grandfather help people who came to the antique mall needing something that had little to do with antiques. Someone needed to use a phone. Someone needed gas money. Someone needed a ride across town. Her papaw helped. Those experiences shaped Devin’s understanding of what it means to be part of a community. She believes that helping people doesn’t always have to lead to a transaction or something in return. Sometimes, you help because someone needs help. That belief carries into her real estate business today.

A Personal Understanding of Homeownership

Devin understands the uncertainty that can come with buying a first home because she has experienced it herself. As a single mother, she believed homeownership was out of reach because her credit score was 592 and she thought she needed at least a 620 score and a 20% down payment. After connecting with a knowledgeable lender, she learned about financing options that fit her circumstances and purchased a home with no down payment toward the purchase price. That experience changed how she approaches buyers who assume they cannot qualify for a mortgage or afford to buy a home. Devin encourages people to learn about their actual options before ruling themselves out. She believes in being honest about financial realities while helping buyers understand that their first home doesn’t have to be their forever home. She calls this approach the housing food chain: buy what you can afford, build equity over time, and potentially use that equity to move into a home that better fits your future goals. She brings that same practical perspective to sellers. Rather than automatically recommending a sale, Devin helps homeowners consider whether selling, downsizing, moving up, or potentially keeping a property as a rental makes the most sense for their circumstances. Her priority is helping clients make informed decisions, even when the best decision doesn’t produce an immediate transaction.

Local Knowledge Not From a Search Engine

For Devin, knowing Berea means much more than knowing home values, property boundaries, and neighborhood statistics. It means knowing the roads, local businesses, community events, outdoor recreation, restaurants, and the everyday details that help someone understand what living here is really like. She knows Berea as a lifelong resident, a parent raising children here, a local business owner, and someone who has spent years involved in the community. Her community involvement includes serving as a Berea Chamber of Commerce volunteer and board member from 2021 through 2024, including serving as Chamber president in 2024. She graduated from Leadership Madison County, served on the board of Mike’s Kids Education Foundation, and has participated in community initiatives throughout the area. In 2025, she collected donations and helped ensure nursing home residents received Christmas goody bags filled with personal care items. Berea’s arts and crafts heritage, Berea College, outdoor recreation, local businesses, and community traditions all contribute to what makes the city special. Devin enjoys sharing those parts of Berea with people considering a move, whether that means recommending a restaurant, pointing someone toward Old Town Artisan Village, or helping them discover local events and outdoor destinations.
