Former Madison County Wrestling Coach Arrested
The week began with news that a former Madison County wrestling coach was arrested on multiple sexual abuse charges. The investigation remains active as the case moves through the legal process. As with all criminal proceedings, the charges are allegations until proven in court.
Berea Artist Rebuilding After Storm Damage
One of this week’s most uplifting stories came from Berea. A severe storm destroyed the well-known glowing lemonade tent operated by a local artist. Rather than giving up, the owner has already begun rebuilding with support from neighbors and customers. It’s another reminder of how quickly our community comes together during difficult times.
Tragic Crash on I-75
Traffic came to a standstill on Interstate 75 South following a serious collision in Madison County. Authorities later confirmed that one child lost their life while several other people suffered serious injuries.

Berea Council Discusses Future Growth
Among the discussions were:

Animal Cruelty Investigation Continues
A deeply disturbing case also gained statewide attention this week after five cats were discovered deceased inside a sealed storage tote in Berea.
Animal advocates are asking anyone with information to come forward, and Animal Wellness Action announced a $5,000 reward for information leading to an arrest and conviction. Community members continue to share the case in hopes of finding answers.
Road Rage Ends in Police Chase
The week concluded with the arrest of a Berea man following an alleged road rage incident that led to a police pursuit. Authorities responded quickly, and the suspect was taken into custody without further reported injuries.
