Join the Berea College Visitor Center on Friday, October 16th from 5-6pm for a conversation with artist David Cooke. David creates unique, hand-turned wooden bowls from fallen trees on the Berea College campus in partnership with Grounds and Urban Forestry.

This talk will provide an opportunity to experience the bowls up close as David shares insight into their creation and the ecological history of Berea’s tree certified campus. David will also have a collection of the bowls on display at Hutchins Library during tree week.

In collaboration with this event, the Urban Forestry team will host an arboretum tour the following day, Saturday, October 17th at noon, which will depart from the center. Sign up for this immersive encounter can be found on the Berea College Visitor Center website. These events are part of Berea’s tree week celebration and will demonstrate the campus community’s active commitment to sustainability.
