Berea Fire Station 2 Dedicates Safe Haven Baby Box
When an infant is placed inside, the system notifies Madison County 911, allowing firefighters to quickly retrieve the baby. The box is designed for infants less than 30 days old & is part of a growing statewide initiative to give parents another safe option during emergencies.
Local leaders, including Berea Mayor Bruce Fraley, gathered to mark the dedication. The message was clear: this baby box is another step toward protecting the most vulnerable members of our community.

Threat Prompts Lockdowns
at Three Madison County Schools
Multiple law enforcement agencies—local, state, & federal—responded quickly under the belief that an active shooter situation was in progress. Thankfully, the investigation determined there was no active danger to students. One student has since been charged with terroristic threatening in the second degree.
Officials emphasized that all threats are taken seriously & will always be fully investigated to keep Madison County schools safe.
