Veteran’s Suicide Awareness Memorial March

Join us for the 10th Annual Veteran Suicide Awareness March on May 25th at Whitehall Park in Madison County as we walk in memory of those we’ve lost.
While marching this year we will also honor the life of Rose Joynt — a true supporter and integral part of this march from the very beginning. This year’s march is dedicated to her memory and the impact she made on so many lives.
This year we will be providing a limited edition memorial moto patch created in honor of Rose and the mission behind this march.

The format this year has changed a bit: We will be using the trail around Whitehall Park. We will meet at 0700 and begin at 0800. The loop is 1.6 miles and takes you through the park and past the fishing pond. About 1/3 of the loop runs through the trees and provides shade.
The start/end point will be by the pavilion which we have for the day, complete with grills and 8 picnic tables. His and hers bathroom facilities are available on-site as well as a playground for the kids.
The idea this year is to make the event family friendly and self-paced. Run your 22 miles or come do a lap every couple of hours with the kids. Whatever you choose. 14 laps gets you to 22.4 miles. Do them all or do a few. The point isn’t so much the distance but the fellowship.
I’ll post a bit more once we nail down particulars for support but there will be water and snacks provided as usual. We are still working out the post-event meal. More info to come on that.
