Derby Brunch: Bourbon and Bow Ties – Richmond Area Arts Council
May 2 @ 11:00 am - 2:00 pm

The Richmond Area Arts Council’s Derby Brunch will be returning to Lynwood Estate in Richmond on May 2 from 11:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m.! The theme of the event is “Bourbon and Bow Ties.”
Entertainment will be provided by professional touring and recording artist Parker Hastings, a guitarist/vocalist/songwriter from Richmond, KY. Parker was named the Kentucky Music Hall of Fame artist in Residence in 2023, and in early 2025 he was announced as the lead guitarist for the popular Celtic fusion band Gaelic Storm, a group that has topped the world music charts several times and whose music appeared on the soundtrack for Titanic. Hasting’s guitar style is deeply rooted in the thumb picking style popularized by Chet Atkins and Merle Travis. He has performed on the Grand Ole Opry multiple times and is a protégé of guitarist Tommy Emmanuel.
The opening act for this particular show is Kristi Miller, a well-known artist from the central Kentucky area who has shared the stage with icons such as Ralph Stanley and Dale Anne Bradley. In 2022, she gained significant attention when she wrote the theme song requested by Kentucky Proud and Tree of the Field for the East KY Flood Relief effort. She performs consistently throughout central Kentucky and has headlined previous arts council events.
An extensive menu will be prepared by Winchester’s Thompson Catering, and a cash bar will be provided. There will be a best hat and bow tie contest, and guests will be able to tour the historic Lynwood Estate.
The event is sponsored by Baptist Health Richmond, Central Bank, Coldwell Banker: Nancy Robertson, Custom Photo, Community Trust Bank, Redi Mart, Soft Shoe, Spencer Templin, and Steve and Debbie Vescio, and Vice and Smith, CPA.
